JUMBO-Textil manufactures with green power

Europe is looking to have a neutral environmental footprint. So, environmental protection is the goal in the Green Deal: zero net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. It is important to us at JUMBO-Textil to help achieve this goal. One indispensable step for us is reducing CO₂ emissions in the production of our narrow textiles.

Only green power and green gas | Environmental protection

Since the beginning of this year, we have exclusively been using green power and green gas. The electricity for our production and administration in Sprockhövel is generated from solar, wind and water power. We also generate heat in a climate-neutral way: via CO₂-compensation we finance measures that offset unavoidable emissions.

“This changeover is not the only step we are taking in terms of climate and environmental protection. There always have been many other sustainability measures: for example, we have been handling our parcel shipping in an environmentally neutral way since 2020. And it is certainly not the last step,” as Business Development Manager Patrick Kielholz emphasises, reiterating the importance of the issue within the company. “Instead, this is part of a comprehensive sustainability strategy that we are pursuing at JUMBO-Textil and across the entire Group.”
